What sports are good to lose weight?

My girlfriend is worried that she will never lose weight, although I think she looks great. Well, she is undecided as to what sports should she practice in order to drop a few kilograms. I started to run recently but she doesn't like it at all.
Do you know what sports are good for losing weight?

Yes, football is great but I doubt your girlfriend will enjoy it since she doesn't jog.
My best guesses would be aerobics, swimming and Pilates. Yoga works too, I just find it a bit boring.

Hi Martin!
You're in luck, I'm teaching Pilates in my spare time (I have a class twice a week).
My students, well, I should say my female students, are very pleased with the outcome. Some of them have visibly dropped a few pounds after some months of Pilates training. Maybe you can suggest it to your girl, if she's interested.

In my opinion, all the cardio sports are good to lose weight. I would say Jogging, but also swimming. Try it for let's say 2-3 weeks and you increase slowly the sessions (2 to 3 sessions per week). The session should be at leat 35/45 min long.

And of course try get a good diet and eat at regular hours.

Yes, a good diet is key! Good thinking, Jamal.
If you don't start to eat the right things, you will never lose weight. You can train 7 times a week but if you keep eating fast food and drink 2 bottles of soda every day, nothing good will happen.

Ahaha! Not all girls are obsessed with losing weight. We do want to look good but we also eat pizza and fast food every once in a while  :P

@Starla: pizza is good, my wife makes a pizza so great, at home, you'll want to lick your fingers and eat until you pop! But then she comes to my pilates class :D

I notice nobody mentioned the simple gym. Going to the gym is a great way to stay in shape and lose some of those extra pounds if you have any.

Yeah, the gym is great to lose weight because you can work different muscle groups each time you go exercise.
